Every time that disco scenes were filmed, this particular song was played. Additionally, Antalyaspor, a football team in Turkish Super League, played this song in their stadium, after every goal scored against Fenerbahce, this past weekend. Antalyaspor won 4-2. A kind of rape as well lol.“

I suspect they felt they had been deluged over the past years with many alchemical texts and yet they found they could not understand what they were reading there. This was partly due to the archaic language of some of these texts or the obscurities of emblematic symbolism, but it also arose from the fact that few people are able to contextualise the ideas in these texts or symbols in order to understand the difficult and obscure terms. So I began to produce more of these in-depth analyses of alchemical emblems and texts as study courses. These are not correspondence courses and students should not expect me to be able to write to them individually on particular matters, as regrettably I just do not have time to enter into individual correspondence. People who’ve lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 50 years share stories from the ‘dark ages’ of diabetes, including Miriam E. Tucker, who was diagnosed in 1973.
On October 22, 2023, a very special celebration took place in Baltimore, honoring people who have lived with type 1 diabetes for 50 years or longer – including me.
I’m one of the newest members of this extraordinary group, having just hit my 50th “diaversary” in early September. After my diagnosis on Labor Day of 1973 at age 9, a doctor told my parents that I would probably develop eye and kidney complications within a decade.
I still tear up when I think about how my mother kept that from me until I was in my early 20’s and it became clear that the prediction was wrong.
Today, people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes who have reliable access to modern insulin, technology, and treatment can expect to live long lives. That wasn’t the case 50-plus years ago when diabetes management consisted of taking just one or two shots a day of animal insulin and only being able to monitor using urine glucose tests.
There were no human or analog insulins, fingerstick blood sugar tests, A1C measurements, insulin pumps, or continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). All of those treatment options emerged after the 1970s.
Those who were diagnosed with the chronic condition during the 1950s and 60s had to inject less purified animal insulin using glass syringes with steel needles, both of which required sterilization after each use.

So entstehen Serienideen: Noé Debré hatte vom Straßburger Elternhaus aus das Europaparlament im Blick – Inspiration zu einer TV-Serie mit dem knappen Titel »PARLAMENT«. Die verdient schon deshalb Hochachtung, weil sich Debré und sein Stab zunächst mit den verwickelten Abläufen innerhalb der europäischen Institutionen vertraut machen mussten, mit den Be- und Empfindlichkeiten einzelner Fraktionen, Länder und Regionen. Hilfreich dabei war, dass mit dem Franzosen Maxime Calligaro und dem Belgier Pierre Dorac zwei EU-Mitarbeiter zum Team gehörten.
»PARLAMENT« steht in der Tradition der satirischen Politserien. Debré kreuzt den Pseudodokumentarismus von Robert Altmans »TANNER ’88« mit ausgefalleneren Elementen im Stil der britischen Sitcom »YES MINISTER«. Vermöge eines bewährten Musters führte Debré die Zuschauerschaft an die komplexen Verhältnisse der EU-Politik heran und schickte eingangs mit Samy Kantor einen idealistischen Neuling in den Parlaments- und Behördendschungel. Der hat erst einmal Mühe, überhaupt seinen Arbeitsplatz zu finden, das Büro des Abgeordneten Michel Specklin, der alles daransetzt, die mit seinem Mandat verbundenen Aufgaben zu vermeiden.
